Lazarus image editor lazarus / 39-Graphics ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Andyk · 2012-03-31 22:33 I have created some visual components which I have added to the component palette, I am now trying to figure out how to make the icons for the components. I have been reading the rather patchy info on the web but haven't managed to successfully make a working lrs file. I managed to download and compile the image editor. There are several source code errors both in the editor and in the components it uses which means it doesn't compile off the peg. However, I managed to figure out the bugs and fix them so the editor compiles properly. The problem is that the export to lrs feature doesn't seem to work, The icon shows either as a blank or as a jumble of pixels. I tried it both with bmp and with png files with no success. The file always seems to create some strange XMP format whereas the lrs files in the lcl all seem to be show a PNG format. Any tips on getting this working would be appreciated. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- lainz · 2012-03-31 22:43 Try again with the command line tool explained in the wiki, it works =) read carefully each step. http://wiki.lazarus.freepascal.org/Lazarus_Packages#Add_a_component_ic on ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Andyk · 2012-03-31 22:58 Quote from: lainz on April 01, 2012, 12:43:17 amTry again with the command line tool explained in the wiki, it works =) read carefully each step. http://wiki.lazarus.freepascal.org/Lazarus_Packages#Add_a_component_ic on Thanks, that worked, but its a horrible way to do it using the command prompt, especially in windows as it doesn't know where lazres is or where the source and dest files should go. I had to copy a version of the exe into the source directory. I might have to write a windows wrapper to make this usable. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- BigChimp · 2012-04-01 08:09 Andy, If you have any patches/improvements to Lazarus code, I'm sure posting them as a patch to the bugtracker would be much appreciated! Recently created some visual components myself; running lazres on some png images was not too difficult, but it is a bit arcane if it's the first time you're doing it.. Regards, BigChimp ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Andyk · 2012-04-02 20:35 BigChimp I've knocked up a quick windows version of Lazres which is a lot easier to use. I'd donate it to the community but I don't know how or where to put it. Anyway, here's a link to the program, its a zip file including source code and a pre built win32 executable. http://www.sendspace.com/file/ajafyq Andy ---------------------------------------------------------------------- lainz · 2012-04-02 21:39 Quote from: Andyk on April 02, 2012, 10:35:19 pmBigChimp I've knocked up a quick windows version of Lazres which is a lot easier to use.
