How about 5,000 sprite renders (H122xW84) to offscreen buffer in 12 ms? lazarus / 39-Graphics ---------------------------------------------------------------------- TBMan ยท 2025-11-25 17:42 Working with ChatGpt I got an average time (using 10 reps of 5,000 renders to get an average time for 5,000 renders) of 12 ms for a sprite that is in RGBA pixel color format. If I invalidate the sprite's rectangle EACH render to show it on screen, it slows to about 26 ms, which is still pretty fast. I'm going to convert one of my playing card decks to my new sprite format. I already have some tools to convert a bgi palette to colorrefs. Along with saving and loading the new sprite format to disk I can also export it to be included in the constant section (along with comment info to remind to create type of constant for it) and I have overloaded the drawing routine so one method draws from the constant instead of the full sprite.
