TPicture has a blue hue unless saved to file then loaded

I am trying to place an image that is stored in a database onto a
KMemo page using a TPicture.

If i save the image to a file and then load it using the
KMemo1.Blocks.AddImageBlock([filename]) procedure, the image loads and
dispays correctly.

However, saving and loading files to disk is a pain and slow and i'd
rather not write multiple times to disk, however when i try and load
the image directly from TPicture, the image has a blue hue.

Code is below, can anyone spot what i'm doing incorrectly ?

Picture.PNG.Assign(form1.Image1.Picture);// displays correctly, but is
too large so i need to resize to display on kmemo.

  image2.Picture.Bitmap := Picture.Bitmap;

  {tried pasting, has the same effect}
  Clipboard.Assign(Picture.Bitmap);
  TMyKMemo(KMemo1).DoPaste; }

  Picture.SaveToFile('[filename]') ;
IB :=  KMemo1.Blocks.AddImageBlock([fiename]);  // Works fine
IB :=  KMemo1.Blocks.AddImageBlock(Picture); // Blue tint
