EvsSimpleGraph compiling: What is uevsIDChecks in uses clause? lazarus / 39-Graphics ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Boleeman · 2023-07-04 07:29 This draws simple flowcharts. Was ported to Lazarus from Delphi by taazz from this forumn. Downloaded EvsSimpleGraph from github.   https://github.com/taazz/EvsSimpleGraph and proceeded to compile with Lazarus 2.2.4 but seems to stop at uses:  uevsIDChecks uses   Classes, SysUtils, FileUtil, Forms, Controls, Graphics, Dialogs, LCLType,   LCLIntf, StdCtrls, ComCtrls, ActnList, Menus, Clipbrd, usimplegraph, uevsIDChecks,   ExtCtrls; What us  uevsIDChecks ? and how to fix the uses clause? I deleted the parts reliant on uevsIDChecks and got it to work but was curious what uevsIDChecks was about as I could not find anything about this on the web. Was also getting a black console screen, which presumably is because it is a w32 bit program program? PS.  There is a cool ruler program in the 3rd party folder. Discovered it accidentally and was quite impressed. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- taazz · 2023-07-04 07:44 You can safely ignore that unit. It had 3 functions to help with merging of documents specifically resolving internal ID crossover but since I never needed it anyway I never finished it.  As for the rulers they where an other port of a delphi component and I think that I have seen a similar component in the jedi port. Not really sure. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Boleeman · 2023-07-04 08:03 Thanks for the quick reply taazz. I like playing around with vector like shape programs so I thought I would try out EvsSimpleGraph. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- taazz · 2023-07-04 08:15 Quote from: Boleeman on July 04, 2023, 10:03:20 amThanks for the quick reply taazz. I like playing around with vector like shape programs so I thought I would try out EvsSimpleGraph. you are welcome. Just an FYI press ctrl or alt and hover over the lines of a link to add or remove points You need to turn on "win32 gui application" option in the "project options\config and target" page to hide the console window.have fun. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Boleeman · 2023-07-04 08:27 Took me a while to find the compile options. Thanks for the tips taazz. Included the files for anyone who wants to try it out. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- wp · 2023-07-04 08:34 Noticed that the version of the SimpleGraphBuilder demo project distributed along with the package in OPM does not contain this issue. Returned to the github version and found the offending uevsIDChecks as well as some other compilation issues. It looks as if the OPM version is ahead of Taaz's version... In the installation folder of the github version there is also a folder "original_demo"; the project in there does not compile either. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Boleeman · 2023-07-04 12:46 Ah, how can that be   OPM version is ahead of Taaz's Github  version  Thanks Wp and also taazz for both your help. Also tried  press ctrl or alt and hover over the lines of a link to add or remove points  but seemed not to get anything happening. I hovered over red underlined uevsIDChecks in the IDE and pressed ctrl or alt but did not see anything happening? Maybe I misunderstood? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- wp · 2023-07-04 13:11 Quote from: Boleeman on July 04, 2023, 02:46:40 pmAh, how can that be   OPM version is ahead of Taaz's Github  version I suppose that there were user reports ssaying like yours that the OPM version cannot be compiled, and somebody fixed it by-passing Taazz's repository. This is the only procedure when the OPM packages are out of reach for us and happen to expose issues. Of course, Taazz is an active member of the forum, and this should not have happended, but maybe it was not clear that he maintains that package... Quote from: Boleeman on July 04, 2023, 02:46:40 pmI hovered over red underlined uevsIDChecks in the IDE and pressed ctrl or alt but did not see anything happening? This just indicates that CodeTools is not able to find the identifer ievsIDChecks - the same what the compiler tells you later.
