random tree (by AI) :) lazarus / 39-Graphics ---------------------------------------------------------------------- speter · 2023-01-06 03:14 A few days ago I posted a program to draw random trees. I was curious to see how the chatbot-ai would handle the problem. The code it wrote was pretty good. I am posting a modified version as a Laz project if anyone is interested! I firstly did not specify that it needed leaves; my second question was: Q: write a lazarus program that draws a random tree with leaves the code it produced is: Code: Pascal  [Select][+][-]window.onload = function(){var x1 = document.getElementById("main_content_section"); if (x1) { var x = document.getElementsByClassName("geshi");for (var i = 0; i program DrawRandomTree; uses  Graphics, Forms, Classes, SysUtils; const  MAX_BRANCHES = 8;  // maximum number of branches  MIN_BRANCHES = 3;  // minimum number of branches  MAX_LENGTH = 50;   // maximum length of branches  MIN_LENGTH = 20;   // minimum length of branches  MAX_ANGLE = 45;    // maximum angle between branches  MIN_ANGLE = 15;  // minimum angle between branches  LEAF_SIZE = 5;     // size of leaf var  Form1: TForm;  Image1: TImage;  NumBranches: Integer;  // number of branches  BranchLength: Integer; // length of branches  BranchAngle: Integer;  // angle between branches procedure DrawLeaves(X, Y: Integer);var  I: Integer;begin  for I := 1 to 5 do  begin    Image1.Canvas.Ellipse(X - LEAF_SIZE, Y - LEAF_SIZE, X + LEAF_SIZE, Y + LEAF_SIZE);    X := X + Random(LEAF_SIZE * 2) - LEAF_SIZE;    Y := Y + Random(LEAF_SIZE * 2) - LEAF_SIZE;  end;end; procedure DrawTree(X, Y: Integer; Length, Angle: Integer);var  X2, Y2: Integer;  // end point of branchbegin  if Length < 5 then  begin    DrawLeaves(X, Y);    Exit;  end;  X2 := X + Round(Length * Cos(Angle * Pi / 180));  Y2 := Y - Round(Length * Sin(Angle * Pi / 180));  Image1.Canvas.MoveTo(X, Y);  Image1.Canvas.LineTo(X2, Y2);  DrawTree(X2, Y2, Length - Random(5), Angle + Random(30) - 15);  DrawTree(X2, Y2, Length - Random(5), Angle + Random(30) - 15);end; begin  Form1 := TForm.Create(Application);  try    Form1.Width := 600;    Form1.Height := 600;    Image1 := TImage.Create(Form1);    Image1.Parent := Form1;    Image1.Width := Form1.Width;    Image1.Height := Form1.Height;    Randomize;    NumBranches := Random(MAX_BRANCHES - MIN_BRANCHES + 1) + MIN_BRANCHES;    BranchLength := Random(MAX_LENGTH - MIN_LENGTH + 1) + MIN_LENGTH;    BranchAngle := Random(MAX_ANGLE - MIN_ANGLE + 1) + MIN_ANGLE;    DrawTree(300, 550, 100, 90);    Form1.Show;  except    Form1.Free;  end;end. Here is an example of how you could create a unit with a procedure that generates and draws a random tree: Code: Pascal  [Select][+][-]window.onload = function(){var x1 = document.getElementById("main_content_section"); if (x1) { var x = document.getElementsByClassName("geshi");for (var i = 0; i unit RandomTree; interface uses  Classes, Graphics, Forms; type  TRandomTree = class  private    FLeafColor: TColor;    FTrunkColor: TColor;  public    constructor Create;    procedure Draw(Canvas: TCanvas; Rect: TRect);  end; implementation constructor TRandomTree.Create;begin  inherited;  // Generate random colors for the leaves and trunk of the tree  FLeafColor := RGB(Random(256), Random(256), Random(256));  FTrunkColor := RGB(Random(256), Random(256), Random(256));end; procedure TRandomTree.Draw(Canvas: TCanvas; Rect: TRect);var  TrunkWidth, TrunkHeight: Integer;begin  // Calculate the dimensions of the trunk  TrunkWidth := Rect.Width div 10;  TrunkHeight := Rect.Height * 3 div 4;   // Set the pen and brush colors  Canvas.Pen.Color := FTrunkColor;  Canvas.Brush.Color := FLeafColor;   // Draw the trunk  Canvas.Rectangle(Rect.Left + (Rect.Width - TrunkWidth) div 2,                   Rect.Top + Rect.Height - TrunkHeight,                   Rect.Left + (Rect.Width + TrunkWidth) div 2,                   Rect.Top + Rect.Height);   // Calculate the bounds of the leafy part of the tree  Rect.Bottom := Rect.Top + Rect.Height - TrunkHeight;   // Draw the leaves  Canvas.Ellipse(Rect);end; end. To use this unit, you will need to add it to your project and then call the Draw procedure in the OnPaint event handler of your form. Here is an example of how you could do this: Code: Pascal  [Select][+][-]window.onload = function(){var x1 = document.getElementById("main_content_section"); if (x1) { var x = document.getElementsByClassName("geshi");for (var i = 0; i procedure TForm1.FormPaint(Sender: TObject);var  Tree: TRandomTree;begin  Tree := TRandomTree.Create;  try    Tree.Draw(Canvas, ClientRect);  finally    Tree.Free;  end;end; This will draw a random tree on your form whenever the OnPaint event is triggered. This looks impressive! I'll create a laz project and see how it goes. (I'll post the project in 30min or so). cheers S. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- speter · 2023-01-06 03:46 Here is the Laz project LoL. cheers S. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- circular · 2023-01-06 16:31 multiple people on speter account ---------------------------------------------------------------------- speter · 2023-01-06 23:05 Quote from: circular on January 06, 2023, 05:31:23 pm multiple people on speter account  We definitely think the chatbot-ai is interesting, but it can take a while to tweak the question so the result is interesting. Thanks Thaddy. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Fred vS · 2023-01-07 16:24 @Circular: Q:  Do you know BGRABitmap? A: Yes, I am familiar with the BGRABitmap library. It is an open- source Pascal library for creating, reading, and modifying bitmap images. The library provides support for the BGRA bitmap format, which is an extension of the BMP format that allows for the inclusion of an alpha channel for transparency. BGRABitmap is widely used in Delphi and Lazarus applications, and it is available under the modified LGPL license. Do you have any specific questions about BGRABitmap or how it works? Q: Write me a random tree using Bgrabitmap. A: Here is an example of how you could draw a random tree using the BGRABitmap library: Code: Pascal  [Select][+][-]window.onload = function(){var x1 = document.getElementById("main_content_section"); if (x1) { var x = document.getElementsByClassName("geshi");for (var i = 0; i uses BGRABitmap, BGRABitmapTypes; procedure DrawRandomTree(bmp: TBGRABitmap; x, y, trunkHeight: integer);var  i: integer;  branches: integer;  trunkWidth, branchLength: integer;  trunkColor, leafColor: TBGRAPixel;begin  branches := Random(10);  trunkColor := ColorToBGRA(RGBToColor(139,69,19));  leafColor := ColorToBGRA(RGBToColor(34,139,34));  trunkWidth := trunkHeight div 10;  bmp.FillRect(x - trunkWidth div 2, y, x + trunkWidth div 2, y + trunkHeight, trunkColor);   for i := 0 to branches do  begin    branchLength := random(trunkHeight div 2);    bmp.DrawLineAntialias(x, y + trunkHeight, x + random(trunkWidth) - trunkWidth div 2, y + trunkHeight + branchLength, leafColor, 2);  end;end;  This procedure will draw a tree with a random number of branches on a bitmap bmp at the specified x and y coordinates. The trunk of the tree will have a height of trunkHeight and a width of trunkHeight divided by 10. The color of the trunk and the leaves will be set to predefined values using the ColorToBGRA function. The number of branches is randomly generated within a certain range using the Random function. The branches of the tree will be drawn using the DrawLineAntialias function, with their length being randomly generated within a certain range. Q: And a fractal tree? A: Here is an example of how you could use the BGRABitmap library to draw a fractal tree: Code: Pascal  [Select][+][-]window.onload = function(){var x1 = document.getElementById("main_content_section"); if (x1) { var x = document.getElementsByClassName("geshi");for (var i = 0; i uses BGRABitmap, BGRABitmapTypes; procedure DrawFractalTree(bmp: TBGRABitmap; x1, y1, angle, depth: integer; c: TBGRAPixel);var  x2, y2: integer;begin  if depth = 0 then exit;   x2 := x1 + Round(cos(angle * Pi / 180) * depth * 10);  y2 := y1 + Round(sin(angle * Pi / 180) * depth * 10);  bmp.DrawLineAntialias(x1, y1, x2, y2, c, depth * 2);  DrawFractalTree(bmp, x2, y2, angle - 20, depth - 1, c);  DrawFractalTree(bmp, x2, y2, angle + 20, depth - 1, c);end;  This procedure will draw a fractal tree on a bitmap bmp with the specified depth and angle at the starting point x1, y1. The color of the tree is set using the c parameter. The tree is drawn using the DrawLineAntialias function, which draws a smooth line between two points. The tree is drawn recursively, with the two branches being drawn by calling the procedure again with updated x2, y2 coordinates and modified angle and depth values. The depth value determines how many levels of branches the tree will have, and the angle value determines the direction of the branches. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- circular · 2023-01-08 14:03 Oh wow How can I play with it? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Fred vS · 2023-01-08 14:47 Quote from: circular on January 08, 2023, 03:03:13 pmOh wow How can I play with it?  https://chat.openai.com/ I did try just now but I get "ChatGPT is at capacity right now", it seems that everybody want to test it today. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- circular · 2023-01-08 18:14 Indeed I get the same message.  :'( Well, another time then.
