API Calls (Newbe) lazarus / 38-Networking and Web Programming ---------------------------------------------------------------------- JLWest · 2020-05-02 23:36 I have written a program that does a successful REST API call. I have agreed to write a program for a friend that requires several REST API's and is a lot more complicated. (No good deed goes unpunished) I seem to remember in order to make the first REST API program work I had to install : opensslsockets, fphttpclient, fpjson and jsonparser in my development directory. Do I have to ship the four files along with MYProgram.exe for the API to work his  computer? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- eljo · 2020-05-03 00:53 Quote from: JLWest on May 03, 2020, 01:36:00 amI have written a program that does a successful REST API call. It was probably a miss configuration on your part for this to become mandatory. If you mean the ppu/pas files no those are copied inside your exe during the linking process. If you mean the openssl dlls then yes he has to have them in his computer's path somewhere that can be loaded. If you mean something else please provide at least the filenames so we can better understand the problem. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- JLWest · 2020-05-03 01:16 found a diretory 'C:\OpenSSL-Win32' so I guess that's the opensslsockets, i was the: fphttpclient, fpjson and jsonparser ---------------------------------------------------------------------- eljo · 2020-05-03 01:51 Quote from: JLWest on May 03, 2020, 03:16:40 am found a diretory 'C:\OpenSSL-Win32' so I guess that's the opensslsockets, No that's the openSSL an open source encryption library used for httpS and other encrypted communications. That needs to be on your friends computer. Quote from: JLWest on May 03, 2020, 03:16:40 ami was the: fphttpclient, fpjson and jsonparser those are simple units they are already linked in your exe you shouldn't bother with those. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- JLWest · 2020-05-03 17:11 Yea.
