lnet in extra unit: visual or component? [solved] lazarus / 38-Networking and Web Programming ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Hobbit1972 · 2020-04-18 15:12 I'm using an lnet component in my project. I started w/ the visual component in my main form. For better handling I want to move the code into an extra unit. So far I only succeded to use the base/console component and it seems to run slower than the visual version. Is there a way to move the compoment into a unit w/o an extra form? Or: is the visual version installing some faster event handling than what I do? unit MyUnit; ...  TMyType = class(TLTCPComponent)     constructor Create(aOwner : TComponent); override;     procedure ReceiveEvent(aSocket: TLHandle); override;     procedure ProcesStuff;  end; ... procedure TMyType.ReceiveEvent(aSocket: TLHandle); ... begin   inherited ReceiveEvent(aSocket);   GetMessage(s);   ...... end; procedure TMyType.ProcessStuff; begin   inherited CallAction;  ......  ...... end; ProcessStuff gets called from AppOnIdle in main. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Hobbit1972 · 2020-04-20 12:34 Ok, the uses clause takes care of the event handlers. no need to extra call CallAction.
