[LNET]How to receive many lines? lazarus / 38-Networking and Web Programming ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Borneq · 2020-01-12 18:14 I am testing LNET - very nice low-level library. 1. It is non blocking - how to get more than one line which come in OnReceive event? 2. Is posssible that sended messages will: - joined many messaged to one peer event OnReceive? - split message to many peer event OnReceive? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Borneq · 2020-01-12 21:42 Tests: multiple short messages are joined to 100-200 bytes message, long message is trying send in whole but is disconnect is larger than 165kB-195kB (on localhost, but on remote it probably will much smaller) https://stackoverflow.com/questions/2613734/maximum-packet-size-for-a- tcp-connection Quotehe absolute limitation on TCP packet size is 64K (65535 bytes) The MTU (Maximum Transmission Unit) for Ethernet, for instance, is 1500 bytes 1500 bytes with headers, it must be smaller than 1500 bytes Fast Wireshark tests: maximum TCP payload = 1332 bytes Problem: 1.sometimes peer send multiple messages at once, sometimes wait for reply; must be timer? what amount of time? usual ping is about 26 ms for near address to 46 ms for world address, but localhost has ping <1ms 2.sometimes can messages be slower even than 46 ms when server must do time consuming operation on his side. 3. If I implementing waiting, I obtain de facto blocked sockets and I havent advantages LNet unblocking sockets? and maybe better choose unblocking which are easier? What means Timeout?
