TCP verry simple lazarus / 38-Networking and Web Programming ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Edwin Martens · 2019-09-03 10:26 I would like to be able to send/receive simple short data between two lazarus/pascal applications. the applications themselves should not block but just react on an incoming message. what would be a good component to use and/or good way to implement this ? any suggestions ? sending and receiving strings would be enough, or maybe byte array's ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Thaddy · 2019-09-03 11:49 Quote from: Edwin Martens on September 03, 2019, 12:26:17 pmwhat would be a good component to use and/or good way to implement this ? Well,.... ....are you a beginner or a bit more advanced? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Edwin Martens · 2019-09-03 11:57 I'm a restarter when it comes to Pascal (Lazarus) But I'm not a noob when it comes to programming, coming from C, C++ C# TurboPascal , Delphi  as for TCP (or maybe UDP) I don't have much experience. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- k1ng · 2019-09-03 13:02 Well, if you're from Delphi - just use {$mode Delphi} Then you can use one of the known Delphi libraries like Indy, Synapse or ICS. You could also try to ones included in FPC but they won't work with Delphi (if this is your goal). For non blocking: TCP connection in Thread (Indy/Synapse)event-based (ICS) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Paul Breneman · 2019-09-03 14:14 Quote from: Edwin Martens on September 03, 2019, 12:26:17 pmI would like to be able to send/receive simple short data between two lazarus/pascal applications. the applications themselves should not block but just react on an incoming message. what would be a good component to use and/or good way to implement this ? any suggestions ? http://www.ctrlterm.com/ but basic program doesn't react to incoming data but that could be added.
