LNET email: PDF attachment is not readable lazarus / 38-Networking and Web Programming ---------------------------------------------------------------------- luckylynx · 2016-12-25 15:28 Hi experts, I am struggling with LNET sending attachments which are in a binary format like PDF or JPG. Simple text attachment works fine. My e-mail provider requires a handshake and authentification first before sending the mail. In LNET I make the connection first on Port 25, switch to 465 and SSL and the mail with attachment can be send successfully. So far so good, but when I open the attachment, it is not readable anymore. Could this be a problem of the MIME message type and how to change it? A test with Xmailer went fine ( attachment is readable) but with Xmailer the SSL /TLS connection is only possible on Port 25 and not with SSL/TLS on Port 465. Win 10- 32 Bit, Lazarus 1,4,4. FPC 2.6.4, LNET 0.6.5 Thanks for any idea. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- luckylynx · 2016-12-28 10:14 Hi, as my wrote in my post, Xmailer worked fine with Port 25 and I solved the problem by try and error ( changed the e-mail provider an using now port 587 with SSL/ TSL ) It took me days just to read all posts together with installing and deinstalling different programs and variants. What I found out is, that almost everone is struggling by programming a solid e-mail system. There are so many obstactles to overcome ( and mostly related to the e-mail providers), documentations or even not enough knowledge (like me). If someone with enough knowledge could develop a programm, which is easy to use and self checking how to connect properly with the provider to send the mail. This would help a lot of users. Thanks ---------------------------------------------------------------------- JanRoza · 2016-12-28 14:02 Why not use Mozilla Thunderbird, it has all that you need in one program?
