[SOLVED] Unexpected time out when POSTing with Synapse lazarus / 38-Networking and Web Programming ---------------------------------------------------------------------- eny · 2016-03-22 18:35 I'm using Synapse to send data to a REST server via SSL. Class/method used is THTTPSend.HTTPMethod('POST', ); This works very well for requests of any size that do not take longer than 90 seconds to process. However for any request that takes longer than 90 seconds to process by the server, the call aborts with a return value of false and a returncode of 0. So I'm suspecting there is some sort of time out configured somewhere in the Synapse lib, but I have not been able to find one. Any clues to what might be going on? Note that this does not look like a server side problem, because using for example PHP to make the exact same call does work. Server side time outs are set to 3 minutes. This works. Actually this is a bug in THTTPSend.Create: THTTPSend is a subclass of TSynaClient and FTimeOut is a variable defined and initialized in TSynaClient. In there it is initialized with a value of 5000 and that is the value I saw initially (and could not match with my 90 seconds time out). This variable is defined as protected and overwritten in THTTPSend.Create with 90000. So there are no less than three bugs in only two lines of code: FTimeout is defined as protected and not private, even though there are public/published properties to access this field.THTTPSend.Create is overwriting the initial value for no apparent reason (undocumented) and ...... it does so by accessing the protected variable FTimeout, not the property named Timeout.
