For OAuth 2.0 I had to make a custom server, especially because most implementations differ. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Leledumbo · 2016-03-09 15:19 There's no generic authentication algorithm, every sites / servers implement their own. That stackoverflow answer demonstrates the HTTP POST style, which is no different from standard HTTP POST request. It doesn't return any token, usually your session id (which is a cookie value) is used as a key to your authentication status in the server. Another implementation is the basic authentication, which uses special HTTP header for authenticating without any specific server side session management, the browser cache is the only one that handles it. Last but not least is OAuth, there are at least 3 versions of it: 1.0, 1.0a and 2.0. For 1.0a, you can look how we implement it for Twitter and Plurk. 2.0 is not a pure protocol and thus cannot be used interoperably as 1.0/1.0a because each implementor defines their own mechanism of certain things, so it's really dependent on the target server. Suggestions: Try to learn and understand what you want to implement before blindly trying to implement it. "I tried this... but fails" is an indication that you don't even know what you're talking about, don't even think about implementing it.
