Indy install in raspbian(debian) lazarus / 38-Networking and Web Programming ---------------------------------------------------------------------- jwest · 2016-03-03 19:18 Hi, I have used delphi since delphi 1.0 I am a newbie in Lazarus and I have read many documents in the google.   I downloaded the indy10_5344 and I read many post of the forum about how to install indy. I downloaded the zip file and extracted all files in the /usr/local/share/lazarus/components/indy10_5344  folder. Then,  I compiled, installed and rebuild ide with success and all components are showing in the pallete component. Then , I proceed to do my first test. I create a brand new simple project and dropped TidTCPClient on the main form(Form1). When I double click the OnConnected method, I didn't  get the line in the unit source(Unit1) to fill my code. Instead of I have IdGlobal unit being loaded with a error message. I also added indy path to project. What am I doing wrong?  Regards, Luiz ---------------------------------------------------------------------- balazsszekely · 2016-03-03 19:27 Hi jwest, You should download the latest version(10.6.2) from here: https://svn.atozed.com:444/svn/Indy10. regards, GetMem ---------------------------------------------------------------------- jwest · 2016-03-03 22:25 Hi, Thank you for your response. I downloaded from https://svn.atozed.com:444/svn/Indy10 again and installed and rebuild IDE again. I still have the same error. The error happend when I double click the OnConnected method of TIdTcpClient component im my form. When I double click the OnConnected method, I didn't  get the line in the unit source(Unit1) to fill my code. Instead of I have IdGlobal unit being loaded with a error message. Here is the line showing the rror: GOffsetFromUTC: TDateTime = 0 {$IFDEF HAS_DEPRECATED} deprecated{ENDIF}; Here is the screen with the error: https://www.dropbox.com/s/515rwnw9s509lma/Indy%20Error.jpg?dl=0 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- jwest · 2016-03-03 22:36 If I alter the code in IdGlobal.pas and get rid off {$IFDEF HAS_DEPRECATED}deprecated{$ENDIF}; So line 1884 should look like this: GOffsetFromUTC: TDateTime = 0; It seems solves the problem. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Remy Lebeau · 2016-03-16 02:53 What version of FreePascal/Lazarus are you using?  FreePascal has supported the "deprecated" keyword for a long time. http://www.freepascal.org/docs-html/ref/refse5.html ---------------------------------------------------------------------- jc99 · 2016-03-16 06:53 Quote from: GetMem on March 03, 2016, 08:27:57 pmYou should download the latest version(10.6.2) from here: https://svn.atozed.com:444/svn/Indy10. Any Ideas ? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- balazsszekely · 2016-03-16 06:57 Hi jc99, You need a SVN client like Tortoise, SmartSVN or the command line SVN which works on every platform. HTH ---------------------------------------------------------------------- jwest · 2016-04-02 13:28 Hi Mr Remy, I am using FPC 3.0, lazarus 1.6 in raspbian. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Remy Lebeau · 2016-05-05 21:56 Quote from: tintinux on March 16, 2016, 06:29:29 pmIf this is the exact line, a semi-colon is missing before deprecated. Are you sure?  I don't have FreePascal to test with, but in Delphi (and Indy puts FreePascal into Delphi mode), this will not compile: Code: [Select]var   GOffsetFromUTC: TDateTime = 0; deprecated; // [DCC Error] E2029 ',' or ':' expected but ';' found The error is on the final ';' character. However, this compiles just fine: Code: [Select]var   GOffsetFromUTC: TDateTime = 0 deprecated; Even FreePascal's own documentation shows a similar example without the extra ';' character: Code: [Select]Const    AConst = 12 deprecated;  If FreePascal in Delphi mode uses a different syntax than real Delphi uses, that means Indy will need to use an extra IFDEF everywhere it declares a deprecated global variable, eg: Code: [Select]var   GOffsetFromUTC: TDateTime = 0{$IFDEF HAS_DEPRECATED}{$IFDEF FPC};{$ENDIF} deprecated{$ENDIF};
