Two-way socket communication example?

I have an idea for an application, but need to have good two-way
communication between the client/server.

Sockets is perfect for this, but I can't find any good examples of
server/client socket communication, only how to connect to a socket
server or TCP/IP for serving web pages.

The idea is to have a software that lets you control the mouse and
keyboard of multiple computers from your own, in my case I want to
control a computer that will be used as a media computer, hooked up to
the tv.

There are commercial applications like this, I want to see if I can do
it too and if so then release open source.

Aha, I found some examples on Synapse website that should work on
Linux and Windows so should be good for now.
