Strange issue with synapse snmpsend lazarus / 38-Networking and Web Programming ---------------------------------------------------------------------- sebastiaanv · 2015-08-13 21:25 Hi there, Have a strange issue with synapse snmpsend at the moment. When i do a snmpget with below it sends indeed the snmp get request out but i do not get a response: snmpresult := snmpget(snmpoid, community, snmptarget, ansi_string); The snmpresult is false. When i use the same OID with the normal linux snmpget i do get a proper response. I noticed with wireshark some differences in the snmp packet i.e. the packet length (snmpget synapse 84 bytes packet length; snmpget linux 86 bytes packet length). I however see the proper OID & community also in the snmpget of synapse. Could this be a bug or am i missing something ... hope someone has a pointer in the right direction  PS written and compiled with fpc 2.6.4 and synapse release 40 on openSUSE. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- rvk · 2015-08-13 21:31 Quote from: sebastiaanv on August 13, 2015, 11:25:13 pmPS written and compiled with fpc 2.6.4 and synapse release 40 on openSUSE. I don't have experience with snmp. But the Synapse release 40 is over 3 years old while Synapse itself is still being developed. (although the snmpsend.pas is still from 2011) You could try a newer version at: http://sourceforge.net/p/synalist/code/HEAD/tree/trunk/ You can use the Download Snapshot button on that page. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- sebastiaanv · 2015-08-13 21:34 Thanks rvk, While you posted a response i tried to remove my own topic .. Seems i cannot revoke my own stupid new topic  ,. .. i found the issue already. The snmp community had a extra space at the end (mistake when reading the conf file). So resolved  Anyway, thanks for the tip! I am going to check out the suggested developments.
