Https in http server application [solved] lazarus / 38-Networking and Web Programming ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Imants · 2015-08-09 17:01 Is it possible to enable (and if it is then how) https when connecting to may login web module and use http when using my other web modules? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- derek.john.evans · 2015-08-09 17:48 I guess it depends on what API you are using and if it supports https. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Imants · 2015-08-10 05:33 I am using "http server project" which is part of fpWeb which comes with lazarus. So is fpWeb supporting https? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- derek.john.evans · 2015-08-10 07:46 fpWeb doesn't look like it supports https. Indy and Synapse do. http://www.indyproject.org/sockets/ssl.en.aspx http://synapse.ararat.cz/doku.php/public:howto:sslplugin ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Leledumbo · 2015-08-10 08:55 Quote from: Imants on August 10, 2015, 07:33:56 amI am using "http server project" which is part of fpWeb which comes with lazarus. Feel free to push it to Michael van Canneyt if you want, he's the author. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- aradeonas · 2015-08-10 09:31 What is the reason of fpWeb when Indy and Synapse exist? Has it special tools or its just native library come with FPC? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Leledumbo · 2015-08-10 10:45 Quote from: aradeonas on August 10, 2015, 11:31:04 amWhat is the reason of fpWeb when Indy and Synapse exist? Same module source for all kinds of supported web technologies (CGI, FastCGI, Embedded Web Server, Apache Module). That's merging not options and that's almost never good take lcl vs vcl for example, vcl not having to support other OSes is way richer in windows than lcl and way easier to use. Although lcl has done a superb job it can never be as easy and friendly on windows as vcl. So there should be other reasons to choose fpweb ee there should some big reason that motivated the author to ignore th existing technologies and start from scratch instead of extending the existing ones. In any case more choices is always better for the community and always not so good for the tool. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Leledumbo · 2015-08-11 04:06 Quote from: taazz on August 11, 2015, 02:01:14 am3rd party are not native? Yes I wanted to make all without using third party libraries but now I will need to look somewhere else:(. I don't think fpWeb is usable at all without https support :\ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Thaddy · 2015-08-11 07:40 Well, there are no examples but it actually seems possible to use https. The sslsockets unit from fcl-net should be used. I don't know if it is possible to simply swap ssockets for sslsockets. [edit] and it relies on openssl, just like most others. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Thaddy · 2015-08-11 08:08 You can also use libcurl, btw ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Imants · 2015-08-11 10:37 I choose indy10 it is working quite fine for me and my needs
