How do I use TSimpleIPCClient? lazarus / 38-Networking and Web Programming ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Robz · 2015-05-11 01:20 HI, I am trying to use the TSimpleIPCClient component to communicate with a Gnuradio GRC application. The GRC application uses an XMLRPC server. The documentation below is written in Python. "This block will start an XMLRPC server. The server provides access to the run, start, stop, wait functions of the flow graph. The server also provides access to the variable callbacks in the flow graph. Ex: If the variable is called freq, the function provided by the server will be called set_freq(new_freq). Example client in python: import xmlrpclib s = xmlrpclib.Server('http://localhost:8080') s.set_freq(5000)" Question: How do I use a TSimpleIPCClient component to achieve the RPC (remote procedure call using XML) objective? Using Ubuntu 14.04.2 LTE 64 bit, Lazarus 1.4.0. Help is greatly appreciated. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- DonAlfredo · 2015-05-11 05:38 The Web Service Toolkit should have what you want ! http://sourceforge.net/p/lazarus-ccr/svn/HEAD/tree/wst/ See sample : user_client_console ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Leledumbo · 2015-05-11 06:31 TSimpleIPCClient is not for RPC through web services. I downloaded the wst snap shot and successfully compiled the user_client_console. There are several prerequisite steps to result in a successful compile. My result was a command line function with several choices; xmlrpc being one choice. Unfortunately it did not seemed to do what I want. I am sure the answer is there somewhere and eventually will find it. Specifically looking for a component that can be dropped onto a form to access xmlrpc client or server functions. Web service toolkit (client part) is. Thank you Leledumbo for the clarification. I read that IPC web services also included RPC services. May be the information is wrong. The internet is full of answers, some right and many wrong. Rob
