How do you timeout with TLTCPComponent (lnet)? lazarus / 38-Networking and Web Programming ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Awesome Programmer · 2015-03-24 18:41 I am using lNet component to communicate over TCP/IP. Everything works as expected, but it seems every so often it runs into problem that the communication times out. However, my program doesn't pause for the timeout to occur. It just moves on to next message causing miss communication and checksum errors in the data. I did set the Timeout property for the component and it seems to do nothing. I have looked through lNet website, on Google, here on Lazarus forum and it seems no one is having any problem as far as timeout goes. So, what am I missing? or What am I doing wrong? Please any lnet experts here... help me out or give me a sample code to work from. Thank you very much. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Awesome Programmer · 2015-03-25 12:33 This is a sample code which is similar to what I am actually working with. If so, how would you account for the communication timeout. Thanks in advance. Code: [Select]type   TForm1 = class(TForm)         net1:TLTCPComponent;         Timer1:TTimer;   //Set for 30 milliseconds         procedure FormCreate(Sender:TObject);         procedure net1receive(aSocket:TLSocket);         procedure Timer1Timer(Sender:TObject);   private   public   end; procedure TForm1.FormCreate(Sender:TObject); begin       Timer1.Interval := 30; //milliseconds       net1.connect('192.168.1.31',10002);       Timer1.Enabled := true; end; procedure TForm1.net1receive(aSocket:TLSocket); var      rbyte:array[0..3] of byte; begin      asocket.Get(rbyte, sizeof(rbyte)); end; procedure TForm1.Timer1Timer(Sender:TObject); var bbyte: array[0..3] of byte; begin      bbyte[0] := $FF;      bbyte[1] :=$01;      bbyte[2] :=$03;      net1.send(bbyte, sizeof(bbyte), net1.iterator); end; ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Never · 2015-03-25 14:30 This might help you [  https://lnet.wordpress.com/usage/handles- eventers-and-events/ ] make a search for "time out" or "callaction "
