[SOLVED] Moving files to and from cloud services using Freepascal lazarus / 38-Networking and Web Programming ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Gizmo · 2015-02-24 23:52 I have an FTP problem discussed here (http://forum.lazarus.freepascal.org/index.php/topic,27488.0.html) but this is a seperate question, spawned in light of my FTP difficulties. These days, with the ever growing popularity of Cloud services like Copy.com, Dropbox, Google Drive etc, most (all?) of which do not allow FTP transfer to them or from them, many Internet threads refer to FTP as a dying technology. Whether that be the case or not, I am curious to know if there is a way within Freepascal to send and receive files to and from cloud services rather than using FTP to transfer files to a server directly? In other words, if your application form takes the username and password from the user for his\her cloud service, like Dropbox, is there a way to move the files to and from it? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- taazz · 2015-02-25 00:30 yes it is. Its not simple and there is no ready component to help you out so if you delve in these waters you are pretty much alone. In short you use an existing http library (synapse, indy, lnet etc) and you build on top of that all the calls, encryption and authentications the site require to allow you to interact with it. This is the only way to do it. Some site might give you some kind of API or SDK that you can use for various languages eg mega.nz has a library for C/C++ that you can use. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Leledumbo · 2015-02-25 04:43 Quote from: Gizmo on February 25, 2015, 12:52:20 amWhether that be the case or not, I am curious to know if there is a way within Freepascal to send and receive files to and from cloud services rather than using FTP to transfer files to a server directly? Those services usually provide a web service API with OAuth authentication. So you just have to do it as how their protocol is documented. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Gizmo · 2015-02-25 17:33 OK, thanks. Wanted to check there wasn't already a wheel that existsed before I created a new one! Ta
