multiplatform Samba CopyFile lazarus / 38-Networking and Web Programming ---------------------------------------------------------------------- schreeckk · 2014-06-06 10:01 Hello, string a is :     //192.168.1.42/e$/MY PROG/V1.2/Data/theBase.db string b is :    ./Data/theBase.db CopyFile (a,b, false) gives the error : Unable to open file "//192.168.1.42/e$/MY PROG/V1.2/Data/theBase.db". The code worked under windows for copying windows file to windows file Under linux, I found a solution with a TProcess launching a smbclient command,  but it's not multiplatform. I would like to have the SAME code for windows and linux to copy files from / to samba shares  to/from linux paths. Is it possible ?  Is Samba included in the CopyFile function ? Have you already done this ? Do i have a security problem (firewalls, authentification, may include password, computer confidence relation, same workgroup ? samba configuration, etc..) The point is to write a multiplatform Code (even with $IFDEF FPC) Thank you for your help. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- BigChimp · 2014-06-06 11:18 FPC knows nothing about samba. If it is a mounted filesystem on your Linux machine (e.g. /home/userbob/mysambashare/some/subdirectory/bla.txt), you can copy. What you are trying to do is provided by smbclient only; no support for that in fpc. I'd suggest mounting the filesystem. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- schreeckk · 2014-06-06 13:52 Ok, thank you for this clear answer. I mounted the filesystem.
