lnet installation failed on Windows 8.1 lazarus / 38-Networking and Web Programming ---------------------------------------------------------------------- jimmarek · 2014-02-11 04:22 I installed Lazarus 1.0.14 to C:\lazarus and unzipped lnet-0.65.zip in lazarus\components. When I did a cd \lazarus\components\lnet and ran make, I got error reported below. There are a few commands that identify the versions of the software, then the make command. Can you tell what file the system cannot find? I assume you wanted to install lNet. According to this wiki page: QuoteInstallation LNet 0.5+:     In the lazarus/components directory, unzip the files from lnet-.zip file. The lnet- folder will be created.     Open Lazarus     Open the package lnet-/lazaruspackage/lnetvisual.lpk with Component/Open package file (.lpk)     Click on Install and answer 'Yes' when you are asked about Lazarus rebuilding. A new tab named 'lNet' will be created in the components palette. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- marcov · 2014-02-11 06:19 Either FPC is not properly installed, or it is not in the path, or other directories in the path have certain tools that are similar to FPCs. Make sure FPC is in your PATH ---------------------------------------------------------------------- jimmarek · 2014-02-11 20:53 marcov: the make works much better with fpc in PATH. Thank you. engkin: I ran make because the "INSTALL" file says 'For LNET, LTCP, LUDP, LFTP and LSMTP all you need to do is type "make".' Is this obsolete? Do the wiki instructions work better than the "INSTALL" instructions? Thank you, both, Jim ---------------------------------------------------------------------- engkin · 2014-02-11 21:29 Quote from: jimmarek on February 11, 2014, 09:53:45 pmengkin: I ran make because the "INSTALL" file says 'For LNET, LTCP, LUDP, LFTP and LSMTP all you need to do is type "make".' Is this obsolete? Do the wiki instructions work better than the "INSTALL" instructions? I did not know about using make for this. Marcov's post is the correct answer. Thank you for mentioning the reason.
