Serial to LAN lazarus / 38-Networking and Web Programming ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Awesome Programmer · 2013-11-11 20:36 Is there winsock available in Lazarus environment for TCP/IP communication? I want to connect to TCP/IP socket and send serial data over the network connection. Any help or hint will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, ---------------------------------------------------------------------- marcov · 2013-11-11 21:13 Winsock (and -2) units are part of FPC, and standardly installed under Windows versions of Lazarus. For crossplatform abstractions there are the so called socket suites (indy, synapse, lnet) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- avra · 2013-11-12 00:47 Quote from: reltek on November 11, 2013, 09:36:22 pmI want to connect to TCP/IP socket and send serial data over the network connection. If you want to develop it on your own then go ahead, but if you just want to use some free serial<=>tcpip software redirector then take a look here: http://www.hw-group.com/products/hw_vsp/index_en.html ---------------------------------------------------------------------- bambamns · 2013-11-12 03:51 I recommend Lnet - it is cross platform. http://wiki.freepascal.org/lNet ---------------------------------------------------------------------- serbod · 2013-11-12 04:56 https://code.google.com/p/dataport/ Look for TDataPortFtdi - it's serial port over UDP. Made for using FTDI chip over LAN, but can be adapted to any serial. Maybe, it not properly working, because not used in production. Also, look for TDataPortSerial (standard serial port) and TDataPortTcp - they cross-platform, tested and can be used together.
