[SOLVED] Memory leak on TCP transfer lazarus / 38-Networking and Web Programming ---------------------------------------------------------------------- icey · 2012-11-26 15:18 Hello, i'm experiencing some strange behavior on windows 7. When receiving data by TCP my memory usage keeps rising. Memory usage of the application itself stays the same, but the Kernel memory usage keeps getting higher - took me a while to reckognize that. I made a small test app (just for you  ) and tried it on 4 different machines - the problem only seems to occur on the two PCs running win7 64bit. WinXP 32bit and Server2008 64bit are just fine. I compiled the app on Win7 64bit with Laz1.1/FPC 2.71 Rev 38083 AND Laz0.9.31/FPC 2.71 Rev Unknown (but pretty old) both 32 and 64 bit - with the same result. I attached the test app if someone would like to try (you'll need lnet to run it). Thanx in advance icey BTW: I tried synapse too and the result is the same. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- icey · 2012-11-27 11:02 Tried another Win7 64 machine, and there was no problem at all. So i dug deeper, and the most obvious similarity was mcafee virus scanner. After uninstalling it, the problem was gone. According to some articles i found there is a well known memory leak under win7 that should be fixed by now - but at least it isn't in the german version (I downloaded the newest version but the memory leak reappeared )
