Browser Automation lazarus / 38-Networking and Web Programming ---------------------------------------------------------------------- qvisual · 2012-10-10 16:23 Hello everyone. Is there a browser automation library for Lazarus? I have been using Ruby and Watir to create some automation scripts. This combination has worked well for me so far, but I would like to nest some of this functionality into a light, portable gui app. I've created a small gui tool with Ruby Tk, but distributing this app to my co-workers would require them to have Ruby, the Watir gem, and the Tk gem installed. Also they would have to run the program from the command line. I'm looking for a simpler solution. I know a little bit about Delphi and Lazarus, and was thinking this could be a great alternative and fun project.  Any help regarding this issue would be greatly appreciated. Browser type is immaterial to me. Thanks. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Phil · 2012-10-10 16:34 Quote from: qvisual on October 10, 2012, 06:23:46 pmHello everyone. Is there a browser automation library for Lazarus? Not sure what you mean by that. Do you mean something like this: http://wiki.lazarus.freepascal.org/GeckoPort_version2 Thanks. -Phil ---------------------------------------------------------------------- qvisual · 2012-10-11 15:48 Thank you for the response, but that's not quite the solution I was looking for. I'm looking for an automation library or API similar to Selenium (browser automation) or AutoIT (Windows system automation). Hopefully this clears things up. Again any information or guidance regarding this issue would be greatly appreciated. You can post on this site when you've completed them in order to make them available to others: http://wiki.lazarus.freepascal.org/Components_and_Code_examples Thanks. -Phil ---------------------------------------------------------------------- BeniBela · 2012-10-11 20:59 Not within a browser, but for webpage automation I made my internet tools. (with a command line example), although the command line seems to be the opposite you need). Supports XPath and CSS, but not JavaScript. And I just decided to rewrite its interface, so it's a really bad time to look at it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- marcov · 2012-10-12 07:37 On Windows, in theory: use importtl on c:\windows\system32\mshtml.tlb This will generate an header file for Internet Explorer automation over COM. The header file will be large though, and it probably will require some digging in MSDN to be able to use it.
