indy/ics for lazarus lazarus / 38-Networking and Web Programming ---------------------------------------------------------------------- teriyaki · 2012-08-28 10:59 I have used delphi for a long time. Now I hope to move some of my projects to lazarus. Are there suitable component for lazarus has the similar function with indy/ics? I hope that component works well on all plateform(win, mac, linux, freebsd) Welcome any comment ---------------------------------------------------------------------- marcov · 2012-08-28 11:10 - Indy9 works, but afaik Windows (maybe Linux?) only. - indy10 works and should be crossplatform - ICS used to work, but the Windows version only. (not the kylix one, which was a separate codebase) - Synapse works and should be crossplatform - FPC has a minimal own library called LNET that focusses on asynchronous communication ---------------------------------------------------------------------- teriyaki · 2012-08-28 11:30 Thanks Does lazarus indy10  works well on osx? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- marcov · 2012-08-28 11:31 Quote from: teriyaki on August 28, 2012, 01:30:09 pmThanks Does lazarus indy10  works well on osx? I only tried a few clients, but those worked (and that is years ago). It is sometimes a bit of fumbling to get it installed though. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ludob · 2012-08-28 11:46 QuoteI only tried a few clients, but those worked (and that is years ago). I didn't spend a lot of time on it but on Linux I had to fall back to the 10.2 lazarus/fpc port (from 2007) to get it to work. Recent versions (snapshots) fail miserably in iconv related code with compiler and run-time errors. I only tried the mime and multipart related units. Perhaps there are other people that have better experience with a more recent indy 10.
