Reverse Geocoding Using Google API and lNet lazarus / 38-Networking and Web Programming ---------------------------------------------------------------------- digeo · 2012-07-26 07:52 I have an application on my blackbery that logs my traveling using the built in gps and saves it to a kml file. I want to use this data to generate trip reports for tax purposes etc. The kml file contains the lat long waypoints tracked as I travelled. The app can not export to a readable csv, so I want to create my own app. This is where this program comes in. It uses reverse geolocation to get the begin and end address from the lat long values entered into edit boxes. Thought I would post the source on my website. I used lNet as it has a HTTP client that handles the internet stuff for me. http://www.digeotek.com/reverse-geocoding-using-google-api-and-lazarus The final program will be able to do following: Load and batch extract data from multiple kml filesLoad the selected trace onto a google map inside the programCreate reports and export to csv, pdf etc. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- BigChimp · 2012-07-26 08:18 Good idea - and thanks for posting the source! If you want to, you could post screenshots here: http://wiki.lazarus.freepascal.org/Lazarus_Application_Gallery and/or a project description here: http://wiki.lazarus.freepascal.org/Projects_using_Lazarus Groete, BigChimp ---------------------------------------------------------------------- digeo · 2012-07-26 08:22 Will post screenshots on the Wiki page once the main app is finished. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Leledumbo · 2012-07-26 11:30 Hey, that's kinda cool ---------------------------------------------------------------------- digeo · 2012-08-19 16:55 I created an application that can batch extact data from multiple files dropped onto the form. It then saves the data to a csv doc. http://www.digeotek.com/kml-data-viewer Next feature to add is opening the trace in a map component to view travelled path if you want to check an address. I will add the source soon, just need to clean up a bit more. No much time though as I travel often. Just for interest sake, I just started python and I found it a lot easier to parse data. Python has powerful built in functions that makes this easier. I am going to try and build a gui for this as well using pyqt. http://www.digeotek.com/calculate-kml-distance-using-python ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Leledumbo · 2012-08-19 17:14 QuoteJust for interest sake, I just started python and I found it a lot easier to parse data. (I've got a couple of kml or gpx files that I want to anonymize by scrubbing the first and last couple of waypoints)... Thanks, BigChimp
