Thanks in advance for any assistance. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- denver · 2012-07-27 12:56 Data Abstract is a framework for building database-driven applications using the multi-tier data access model, for a variety of platforms. However, it is a commercial product - not free. here is the link: http://www.remobjects.com/da/ By the way, I am looking for free n-tier framework for lazarus too. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Leledumbo · 2012-07-27 13:31 QuoteBy the way, I am looking for free n-tier framework for lazarus too.Only Laz-n-tier I know exists, but I'm not familiar with it since I don't need it yet. At maximum I'll be playing only on 3 tiers. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- JD · 2012-07-27 14:54 Quote from: denver on July 27, 2012, 02:56:29 pmBy the way, I am looking for free n-tier framework for lazarus too. http://wiki.lazarus.freepascal.org/tiOPF seems to be the only proven free one.  But I've never used it since I never got it to compile completely and I can't seem to use it with Zeos. Don't know if it is still being actively developed either. Another recent one is http://lazarus.freepascal.org/index.php/topic,14147.0.html by jixian.yang. You can take a look and see if it meets your needs. Thanks in advance for any assistance. You can use Indy (or Synapse) TCP/IP components to pass data between server and client. You can save the data into a stream before transferring it between server and client. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Leledumbo · 2012-07-27 15:03 QuoteDon't know if it is still being actively developed either.Yes, it is Look at the latest commit date in sourceforge svn. I use it in a project (though it doesn't really support m-n relationships, making me to replace it with something else, probably a self made one based on greyhound project) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- JD · 2012-07-27 15:22 Quote from: Leledumbo on July 27, 2012, 05:03:43 pmQuoteDon't know if it is still being actively developed either.Yes, it is Look at the latest commit date in sourceforge svn. I use it in a project (though it doesn't really support m-n relationships, making me to replace it with something else, probably a self made one based on greyhound project) I had to roll-my-own too. In the end, I'm more comfortable with what I've done and I understand it better instead of putting it in a black box. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- JD · 2012-07-27 15:24 I forgot to add this earlier http://www.vglib.com/link-4.html - Vladimir Gaitanoff's HYPERBASE. A free MIDAS alternative. It is just a small DLL used by both client and server applications to manage datasets. Once again I have to say that I've never used it before. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- teos · 2012-08-20 23:02 I am working on a client-server set which could have any database that TZConnection can connect to, has record locking, user control, automatic updates to clients etc. etc. Since is uses TZConnection, I could be n-tier. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- cdbc · 2012-08-21 04:08 Hi Have a look at this: http://sourceforge.net/projects/laz-n-tier/files/ Regards Benny ---------------------------------------------------------------------- teos · 2012-08-21 12:43 Thanks Benny, I will give it a spin and if that is what it looks like.
