Display an external web page lazarus / 38-Networking and Web Programming ---------------------------------------------------------------------- saboteur · 2012-07-09 12:14 Hi all, I'm a new user of lazarus and pascal and this is my first post, so be a little forgiving I'd like to display a web page ( e.g www.google.com ) in a form - but what is the simplest way to do this ?? I did a search and came up with a with varous post's, but none seem to make much sense. I've also looked at the provided examples but these all deal with local html pages. Thanks for any and all help regards ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Leledumbo · 2012-07-09 12:29 I could give you a code, but it would be useless if you don't understand since you're new to Pascal. Why don't you try something simpler first? The easy built-in way requires understanding of OOP in Pascal (and it's only for retrieving the web page, for displaying currently you need 3rd party component such as TurboPowerIPro or THtmlPort). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- saboteur · 2012-07-09 13:05 Thanks for the reply. I have looked at the IPpro example and can see where it's getting the 'index.html' file, however I don't understand how this can be used to open an 'external' web page. Any pointers appreciated. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Leledumbo · 2012-07-09 13:33 As I told you, it's only for viewing. To get the webpage, you need another code: Code: [Select]uses   fphttpclient; begin   with TFPHTTPClient.Create(nil) do     try       Get('http://somewhat.somewhere/something','filename to produce');     finally       Free;     end;   // display 'filename to produce' here end; ---------------------------------------------------------------------- avra · 2012-07-10 09:36 Take a look here: http://www.lazarus.freepascal.org/index.php/topic,9762.msg51747.html#m sg51747 http://www.lazarus.freepascal.org/index.php/topic,14358.msg75982.html# msg75982 More info on InternetExplorer.Application object: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa752084%28v=vs.85%29.aspx
