Ubuntu One - permissions issue in accessing with Lazarus lazarus / 38-Networking and Web Programming ---------------------------------------------------------------------- gambothell · 2012-05-09 02:33 I am trying to write a program that pulls critical files from my home directory and placing them into one of my Ubuntu One folders, so the data will automatically be synchronised to the cloud upon completion of the program. For example, my ISP is using dynamic IP addresses. I use a TProcess and issue  a curl command "curl ifconfig.me/ip" to pull my WAN IP address, then I save it as an ini file in my home directory. When I try to copy the file to my Ubuntu One folder, it does not work. If I go into terminal manually and copy the same file to the same folder, it works. So then I tried using a TProcess and a cp command in terminal to copy the file to the same folder, which does not work. I suspect that the problem is a permissions issue, in that Lazarus is not recognised as my user account for the permissions of the Ubuntu One folder, even though the program is executed out of my home directory. Also, when I try to read from the ini file in the Ubuntu One folder, it does not work when the create is executed (iniFile := TIniFile.Create('home/usrname/"Ubuntu One"/MyFolder/wan.ini). I am at a loss, so I hope some smarter people in the community can point me in the correct direction. Thanks in advance.
