fpweb/fcl-web URL syntax for Modules and Actions? lazarus / 38-Networking and Web Programming ---------------------------------------------------------------------- DrEvazan · 2012-02-14 04:21 I am attempting to set up an fpweb project using a single module and multiple actions.  After banging my head against the wall for a while I went back and compiled the "session" demo which ships with Lazarus only to find that the same problems seem to exist there.  I am not certain whether the problem lies with my environment or the package itself, so if anybody could shed some light on this I'd really appreciate it. Here is the problem.  If I have a single module and a default action then I can access the cgi server using the following URL (assuming the session demo is in place): http://localhost/cgi-bin/sessiondemo.cgi?module=session I can then refresh (which changes the default action behind the scenes) and a second action is fired, so I know at least that part is working, but bear in mind that the URL has not changed at this point. Per the documentation I should be able to access the module using a "shortcut" of: http://localhost/cgi-bin/sessiondemo.cgi/session The above URL simply returns an error of "Could not determine HTTP module for request 'cgi-bin'". I am also completely unable to specify any URL that returns a specific action.  Any time I do I either get the error message above or something to the effect of "Could not determine HTTP module for request 'session?action=EndSession'" or whatever syntax I attempted to use.  This is really the issue for me -- I can live with not having the URL shortcut -- it's all internal to my calling application anyway.  What I really need is the ability to specify an action on the calling side.  Without that fpweb is completely worthless and I've wasted a bunch of time planning for it. Here's the kicker: I am testing on IIS 6.0, and I know that everyone seems to be working with Apache when it comes to fpweb, but I really need IIS for the project I am working on.  I'd be more than happy to provide details on my IIS configuration, but its almost a default install with sufficient access granted to the IWAM account to execute cgi and write out a log file for testing purpose in my cgi-bin folder.  Thanks in advance for any help that you guys can offer. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- DrEvazan · 2012-02-14 04:46 OK, correction, I am now able to get actions to execute using the session demo project by specifying the following URL: http://localhost/cgi- bin/sessiondemo.cgi?module=session&demosession=[actionname] I had missed the fact that the session demo had an action variable defined renaming the expected URL specifier "action" with "demosession" when entering URLs.  Unfortunately I'm still unable to use any of the shortcut syntax, and I can't seem to reproduce the results described above with my own project despite a basically identical configuration.  I really feel like the documentation for this package is lacking in this area.
