Something wrong with weblaz package? Always "cannot find" error lazarus / 38-Networking and Web Programming ---------------------------------------------------------------------- max555 · 2024-12-19 09:46 Hello everyone, I used Delphi for 20+ years but I am new to FPC+Lazarus. Looks like awesome product but sometimes I waste days with some easy problems. This time I wasted couple days as well but did not find solution. I hope you can help.. I want to use fphttpclient module (flc-web subfolder, weblaz package) but always receive the following errorQuoteError: Cannot find fphttpclient used by mymodule. Make sure all ppu files of a package are in its output directory. ppu in wrong directory=/home/.../fpc322-lazarus34/fpc/units/x86_64-linux/fcl- web/fphttpclient.ppu.. OS: Ubuntu 20.04 x64 FPC 3.2.2 + Lazarus 2.2.6 - error FPC 3.2.2 + Lazarus 3.4 - same error Target: Default or Linux - same error So, Lazarus actually finds the file but says its in wrong directory. Ok, I copied 3 files (.ppu, .o, .rsj) from fpc/units/x86_64-linux.. to lazarus/lcl/units/x86_64-linux/ same error Ok, I used menu Package-> Installed packages, added weblaz package to list of installed packages, rebuilt Lazarus, new components appeared on Lazarus panel. Still the same error. So not I have weblaz components on Lazaus panel, like mentioned here https://forum.lazarus.freepascal.org/index.php?topic=61884.0 Ok, may be something wrong with installation (FPC 3.2.2 + Lazarus 2.2.6)? I used fpcupdeluxe to install fresh copy FPC 3.2.2 + Lazarus 2.2.6, repeated all the steps, exactly the same problem. Ok, Lazarus 2.2.6 is old so I updated fpcupdeluxe, installed fresh copy of FPC 3.2.2 + Lazarus 3.4 Exactly the same problem. fpcupdeluxe offers some "fixes-2.0" .. "fixes-3.0" options. May be I should use some of these? Which one? Now I tried to create new project and it CAN find and use fphttpclient module! But my old big project which I hope to port from Delphi to Lazarus cannot use fphttpclient (but can use many other standard Lazarus/FPC modules). I see there is difference in Project options -> Paths -> Other unit files - my project has some folders there - new project has nothing there So, what it wrong? Why problem relates to weblaz units only (e.g. LCL* modules loaded fine, RxTools loaded fine, etc)? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- max555 · 2024-12-19 11:08 PS I tried to move weblaz file (not copy like before) and set path to new location using Project options -> Paths -> Other unit files - always the same error -  Cannot find... Make sure all ppu files of a package are in its output directory. ppu in wrong directory... Somehow this project files must be in some specific hardcoded folder? But then how new-empty project works? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- nummer8 · 2024-12-19 11:20 If you installed weblaz as a package there are several new projects available. --Like HTTP Server Application --CGI Application. --etc. After creating such a new project you can see in the prject inspector that the package Weblaz is added to the project as required package. Try to add Weblaz to your own project and see if the needed files are found without moving them. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- max555 · 2024-12-19 11:47 QuoteTry to add Weblaz to your own projectPS: Oh, project inspector, right. Let me try No, same error - ppu in wrong directory Somehow empty-simple projects do not show such error. And it does not list weblaz in the project. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- max555 · 2024-12-19 12:16 Problem solved! There was name conflict, my project had base64.pas file ---------------------------------------------------------------------- egsuh · 2024-12-23 05:02 Welcome to Lazarus web world!
