CHATGPT lazarus / 38-Networking and Web Programming ---------------------------------------------------------------------- marcelomaurinmartins@gmai · 2023-12-13 14:18 I developed a small class in lazarus to access openai's chatgpt, I would like to share it with colleagues, in case anyone wants to improve or use it: https://github.com/marcelomaurin/CHATGPT ---------------------------------------------------------------------- domasz · 2023-12-13 17:13 GPL-3.0 license? Not a good choice ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Thaddy · 2023-12-13 20:56 My original code from Christmas last year has no license... And it will stay that way. And that was written days after the api became public. You should not claim license on such code at all. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- domasz · 2023-12-13 21:07 You should specify license so people know what they can do with the code. I generally release my code under MIT. You should consider CC0 or WTFPL for "no license". ---------------------------------------------------------------------- marcelomaurinmartins@gmai · 2023-12-15 13:15 To be honest, I don't have very specific knowledge about the license terms. In the case of this library, I created it to help other programmers, especially Lazarus programmers, in integrating with OpenAI. Especially the newer ones, who know little about the details of integration with Web API. I would like to make it freely available, but modification and redistribution would still be under my supervision. What licensing would best adhere to this philosophy? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- marcelomaurinmartins@gmai · 2023-12-15 13:20 Checking the code, I noticed that the licensing had already been set as GNU General Public License v3.0. I will keep it the way it is. Remembering that it is a simple lib, but it works. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- mgc · 2023-12-15 19:21 Your program returned the error message: "You exceeded your current quota". I think new API keys does not work anymore for free users. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Thaddy · 2023-12-15 20:58 Quote from: mgc on December 15, 2023, 08:21:25 pmYour program returned the error message: "You exceeded your current quota". I think new API keys does not work anymore for free users. Then you did not read the documentation.. chatGPT needs a key. You can either ask for a key which will take some time or subscribe or use Bing... .. I have a key, but will not share it, just like last year.... And stop licensing efforts. That is unless you rewrote the engine. in pure Pascal.. Which I doubt you did.... People on this forum have already made some beautiful interfaces based on my simple example. And guess, what... they are free and free from licenses... Side note Simple examples are difficult to write when done well ---------------------------------------------------------------------- mgc · 2023-12-16 01:25 Using an external key (API key) from ChatGPT does not work anymore, except if you buy "tokens". See https://openai.com/pricing. I bought U$ 5,00 in tokens and it started working. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- marcelomaurinmartins@gmai · 2023-12-18 15:48 The code was entirely written in Pascal Object , using. Using only classes provided by fpc. Regarding the token. Integration with chatgpt actually requires a paid version. The $20 per month. The issue of the API being deprecated is not true, as I still use it, but it requires payment by OpenAI to be able to use a token. Regarding the use license, it has already been posted. I believe I have resolved this issue. It's a simple class, which can be improved, but it works. I invite anyone who is interested in helping me develop it, to join git and participate in this project. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Thaddy · 2023-12-19 10:02 Quote from: mgc on December 16, 2023, 02:25:44 amUsing an external key (API key) from ChatGPT does not work anymore, except if you buy "tokens". It just took some time and somebody I knew t Microsoft to get a free key to develope my old code from last year and improve on it. That said, I showed them many more code than I made currently available. They also know I am technicallly  a pensionado on a budget... White lie.
