Simple (?) Active Domain Authentication question

I have, what I believe to be, a simple question...

The user fills in a dialog box with userid and password... and I JUST
need to see if that authenticates (true or false) with the active
domain before proceeding.

Is there a unit/package which let's me do that simple thing? HOW?

I'm not aware of a unit or package that would do this natively.
