gvfs - direct library calls

Wondering if anyone has played with gvfs ?  Its gnome's virtual
filesystem, used to mount things like samba or (mtp:) Android devices
on most Linux systems.

Our gtk3 bindings include the g_vfs calls but I am not using gtk3. If
it possible to use such calls in a gtk2 or Qt5 lazarus app ?
