Bullseye not reporting dark theme lazarus / 32-Linux ---------------------------------------------------------------------- dbannon · 2020-12-08 00:14 I have just noticed the current Debian Testing, bullseye, does not appear to communicate its system colours to a Lazarus app. So, if a user has selected a Dark Theme, the Lazarus app will not replicate that dark theme.  I know no other mainstream Linux distro that has this problem, does anyone have any knowledge of this issue ? Maybe someone could outline just how Lazarus gets this information, I may be able to report it if I can say a bit more that "my apps don't work with your distro"..... Davo ---------------------------------------------------------------------- dbannon · 2020-12-09 04:45 Just a follow up here, in case it interests someone.  I just surveyed the bigger Linux distros to see where our apps do and do not inherit system colors - Ubuntu Mate 20.04 - Yes Ubuntu Gnome 20.04 - Yes for GTK2; No for Qt5 Fedora 33 - Yes Debian Bullseye (both mate and XFCe) - yes for GTK2; No for Qt5 Davo ---------------------------------------------------------------------- dbannon · 2020-12-23 02:28 And a further follow up, on Qt5 at least, its very easily solved. Set an env variable, QT_QPA_PLATFORMTHEME=qt5ct and then install and run qt5ct, you can set what ever colour scheme you like and all your Qt5 apps will follow nicely. Yes, that is the right question. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- dbannon · 2020-12-23 22:44 Quote from: avra on December 23, 2020, 11:22:53 amQuote from: dbannon on December 09, 2020, 05:45:19 amDebian Bullseye (both mate and XFCe) - yes for GTK2; No for Qt5Is it QT5 or Lazarus problem? Do all QT5 applications share the same problem and do not follow the theme, or is it just Lazarus? Or is it Bullseye ?  I think it might be Bullseye not including a Qt5 dark theme when installing all its libraries. But that is only a guess. I don't usually report bugs that one one else can say they have experienced, (unless I also have a fix for it) thats why I posted here first and, as it turned out, no one else has apparently seen it.  I did try to follow the code back to what was not happening but it all disappeared into the Qt libraries themselves. So, perhaps I need to try another, non-lazarus Qt5 app on Bullseye .... Davo
