OpenDialog has not network option lazarus / 32-Linux ---------------------------------------------------------------------- dbannon · 2020-08-22 01:07 I have just noticed, to my surprise, that on Linux (GTK2 and Qt5) there is no option in the SelectDirectoryDialog or OpenDialog to allow the user to browse to a shared drive like SMB:.  Just about all Linux distros these days use gvfs to mount SMB: shares in their file managers and that is the preferred way to get to the share's contents. And 'Appliances' seem to offer this sort of share.  Both Windows and Mac Cocoa's version of the Dialogs  have no problem browsing to the share, they have a "Network" link you can use and all is revealed! I am pretty sure I remember the opendialogs in LCL doing so at some stage but maybe I am wrong.  A user can type in the actual gvfs mount point, eg Code: [Select]/run/user/1000/gvfs/smb- share\:server\=greybox\,share\=store2 but thats not exactly pretty or intuitive is it ?  The Dialogs have ofShareAware and ofNoNetworkButton options that appear to nothing. Does anyone have any ideas here ? Davo
