Persistent Clipboard lazarus / 32-Linux ---------------------------------------------------------------------- oneeyed · 2016-12-27 12:15 Hello, I am trying to make what I copy to the clipboard persistent after my application closes but my google-fu failed me on this and I can't seem to find out how. As soon as the app exits, the associated clipboard data is cleared.    Any tips would be helpful.  This is a GUI application, and I'm using XFCE if that matters. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- molly · 2016-12-27 12:30 My first google-fu leaded me to this. Quote... The clipboard manager allows the system to have a persistent clipboard. ... From that i conclude: install a clipboard manager that allows for a persistent clipboard. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- oneeyed · 2016-12-27 12:34 Yes I could install a clipboard manager...  But without one, regular applications: editor, browser, etc... (basically anything installed on my system) can already do this. So there must be a solution without having to install any 3rd-party program. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- molly · 2016-12-27 12:36 Second (interesting) link in my fu led to this which contains some more background information. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- oneeyed · 2016-12-27 13:42 Thanks molly, very interesting link. Too bad many of the links are dead but it gives me some great pointers to look for more info.
