Hi Guys

I need to know exactly what PPPD is up to for a project. I have
semaphores working to tell me its up and connected, I have a way to
know that PPPD is running however I need to know whats going on at the
CHAT stage of things.

I cant see any obvious way to know that CHAT is taking place and PPPD
isnt launched so that leaves me with looking at what /dev/ttyx is up
to.

Is there any way to know sthat a device is in use, if PPPD isnt up and
the port is locked CHAT will be using it or the port is just busy
which is good enough for this.
