Cross compiling to win64 from Linux and 64bit resource compiler. lazarus / 32-Linux ---------------------------------------------------------------------- snorkel · 2014-06-23 16:02 I have the 64bit cross compiler installed and working no problem but when I compile a project that uses a resource it is having issues. I installed the mingw 64bit binutils that has a 64bit resource compiler and I renamed it to the one Lazarus is looking for but it does not work. the IDE is reporting this: Calling resource compiler "/usr/bin/x86_64-win64-gorc" with "/machine x64 /nw /ni /r /fo /home/snorkel/lazarus_projects/sft_admin_new/lib/x8 6_64-win64/updater.res /home/snorkel/lazarus_projects/sft_admin_new/updater.rc" as command line Where it's getting machine x64 /nw /ni /r /fo  is unknown, however if I do this from the command line as what one would think it should be based on the IDE error output: usr/bin/x86_64-win64-gorc /home/snorkel/lazarus_projects/sft_admin_new /lib/x86_64-win64/updater.res /home/snorkel/lazarus_projects/sft_admin_new/updater.rc it errors out saying updater.res is does not exist. The ide seems to be putting the output file first and input file last when it should be the other way around. Does anyone else have this issue? NOTE: the 32bit resource compiler works just fine. Also note this is the latest laz and FPC stable release on Linux Mint KDE latest stable version. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- snorkel · 2014-06-23 16:08 update if I change around the command line used as reported by the IDE to this: /usr/bin/x86_64-win64-gorc /home/snorkel/lazarus_projects/sft_admin_new/updater.rc /home/snorkel/ lazarus_projects/sft_admin_new/lib/x86_64-win64/updater.res The resource is compiled fine. What the IDE is generating for the win64 resource compiler is wrong and the input and output files are in the wrong order. Again when cross compiling win64 on Linux and the project has a resource the IDE is generating this for me: Calling resource compiler "/usr/bin/x86_64-win64-gorc" with "/machine x64 /nw /ni /r /fo /home/snorkel/lazarus_projects/sft_admin_new/lib/x8 6_64-win64/updater.res /home/snorkel/lazarus_projects/sft_admin_new/updater.rc" as command line which of course is completely wrong starting with this path it's generating /machine x64 /nw /ni /r /fo and the input and output files are reversed. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- BigChimp · 2014-07-04 09:00 FYI: AFAIR fpc trunk uses windres for 64 bit windows as well... Haven't ever tried linux=>win64 cross compiling though, only Linux=>win32. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- marcov · 2014-07-04 09:38 Wasn't somebody working on a native resourcecompiler? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- BigChimp · 2014-07-04 09:54 Working.... working.... well it's on my to do list...
