Laz 1.2.4 (Ubuntu from debs) failing to link lazarus / 32-Linux ---------------------------------------------------------------------- snorkel · 2014-06-19 16:17 Hi, I just updated my linux pc with the 1.2.4 debs and now when I compile my apps I get odd linking errors: /usr/bin/ld: warning: link.res contains output sections; did you forget -T? /usr/share/lazarus/1.2.4/components/lazutils/lib/x86_64- linux/laz2_xmlread.o: file not recognized: Input/output error sftadmin.lpr(59,1) Error: Error while linking sftadmin.lpr(59,1) Fatal: There were 1 errors compiling module, stopping Anyone else see this? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Rails · 2014-06-19 16:44 Did you check your paths?  I updated two machines. On one of them the compiler ended up pointed at the 2.2 folder instead of the 2.4. On the other, the FPC source folder was wrong. Note: I corrected the paths before I tried to compile anything, so I really don't know exactly what error messages I would have received. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Mike.Cornflake · 2014-06-19 19:44 Quote/usr/bin/ld: warning: link.res contains output sections; did you forget -T? Been a while since I was on Linux, but last time I had this error it turned out there was a symlink somewhere (ppc something?  bad memory :-(  ) pointing to the wrong location.  Did a complete uninstall of every bit of FPC I could find - checked everywhere was clean, and re- installed just the FPC I wanted... QuoteDid you check your paths? And this will help give you a clue if you've got bits of an old FPC install floating around somewhere... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- snorkel · 2014-06-19 20:14 Got it to work, was just a permission issue. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Mike.Cornflake · 2014-06-19 20:23 Good to hear :-) When I put this post together with your other post (win32 cross compiler still reporting 1.2.2) I thought this confirmed you still had old stuff floating around...  Not the case apparently, which means I've no idea on that other issue at all... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- snorkel · 2014-06-20 03:08 ya, it was still using 2.6.2 so I removed it and now I can't cross compile at all.
