FastReport 4.14 error on install lazarus / 32-Linux ---------------------------------------------------------------------- laguna · 2013-10-15 07:42 I installed 4.14 FastReport of Lazarus (1.0.12/1.1.99) on windows without problems. I tried to install it on Linux / Ubuntu and I got these errors: - Unit LazHelper.pas    Row 381   TSIZE not found on function GetTextExtentPointW can you help me thanks ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Groffy · 2013-10-15 09:26 TSize is defined in unit types. Under Windows 7 with Lazarus 32bit I had to add it as well. Best regards ---------------------------------------------------------------------- laguna · 2013-10-15 14:11 How do I get around this obstacle. FastReport is the missing link to create excellent prints for Mac-OSX and Linux. Thanks for everything. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Rails · 2013-10-15 14:21 Add Types to Uses. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- zeljko · 2013-10-15 17:18 hm, it's pretty strange that it does not compile , I'll fix that in fr4 asap. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- laguna · 2013-10-15 19:43 Thank you, look forward to the update. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- zeljko · 2013-10-16 05:19 I've just commited that fix to fr4 trunk, so expect that it will be in some fixes or at least in 4.15 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Groffy · 2013-10-16 05:22 Quote from: zeljko on October 15, 2013, 07:18:17 pmhm, it's pretty strange that it does not compile , I'll fix that in fr4 asap. @zeljko: You are working as FR developer? There is a fix in reading the resource strings for localisation in unit frxRes.pas which I have to add for every FR4 release. Can I send it to you? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- laguna · 2013-10-16 07:25 Thanks. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Groffy · 2013-10-16 07:54 I will open new thread for this. There are some UTF8 handling issues I don't understand. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- zeljko · 2013-10-20 08:12 Quote from: Groffy on October 16, 2013, 07:22:01 amQuote from: zeljko on October 15, 2013, 07:18:17 pmhm, it's pretty strange that it does not compile , I'll fix that in fr4 asap. @zeljko: You are working as FR developer? You can send me that patch so I can review and eventually commit. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Groffy · 2013-10-20 11:18 I don't have access to FR repository, I checked in the FR4 sources in my local subversion repository. Created a patch where the modification is enabled only for Lazarus/FPC by conditional compiler switch. I don't understand completely why its working, because the resource strings are in UTF8 format, why reading the XML stream by UTFDecode() is not working correctly for German Umlaute and non western european languages. Is there further Lazarus porting planned for example TfrxDesigner and TfrxPreview control? I would like to have designer and print preview inside a MDI application (qt widgetset). Furthermore the code completion inside the FR script editor has some problems. The FR4 Lazarus port is working with qt widgetsset as well, but the script editor is completely weird. Its not possible to type in anything usefull. Thank you and with best regards ---------------------------------------------------------------------- zeljko · 2013-10-20 13:29 Quote from: Groffy on October 20, 2013, 01:18:55 pmI don't have access to FR repository, I checked in the FR4 sources in my local subversion repository. Seem that it depends on OS. Have you included cwstrings (if you're on linux) ? Thank you and with best regards Yes, there are plans to get it as much as possible close to vcl version. About MDI: there could be problem with designer inside MDI app since there are problems with TMainMenu in MDI child windowd (even pure Qt app have problems with that). PrintPreview should work as mdi window, I don't see any problem with it (only with qt widgetset). Script editor is too windowsish and it's not unicode. Maybe I'll implement it with synedit, but then lazarus package will depend on synedit. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Groffy · 2013-10-20 17:16 Quote from: zeljko on October 20, 2013, 03:29:55 pmSeem that it depends on OS. Have you included cwstrings (if you're on linux) ? Actually I'm developing only under Win7/64Bit and Win XP both with 32Bit Lazarus. I'm using qt widgetsets as well because of the MDI capabilities.
