Lazarus with Ubuntu 12.10 64 bit lazarus / 32-Linux ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Gordie · 2013-01-02 16:37 I can't run a program in Ubuntu that I ran in Windows: List of problems:  Current Free Pascal source directory does not look current.  This is shown at start up and I chose use Default directory.  I can use readln to input data manually.  I expect a window where I type in my response (ame of a file to open).  I have my Pascal source file and my data input and output files in the same folder and do not use paths.  However, using Ubuntu I defined a path and it worked, but not consistently.  In Ubuntu Lazarus I do not get window showing runtime errors.  For example:  I know that it cannot find a file.  I would like to know at which line in my code the error occurred.  Are there some settings I need to change to get the program to work? My program did compile successfully.  It just will not run. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- wjackson153 · 2013-01-05 22:14 I would wrap your code with the follow: Try...Except and also you need to write code to determine if OS is Windows or Linux If osWindows then begin use windows functions more windows code here end else begin use linux functions and code  here blah blah blah end;
