A possibile bug with radiobuttons? lazarus / 32-Linux ---------------------------------------------------------------------- jls890 · 2012-11-11 06:20 Hi. This is my first post in this forum. Congratulaltions for your very very nice program! I am creating a card game called "Cross Truco" http://sourceforge.net/projects/crosstruco and I am using the "RadioButtons" to know who is going to play. In the "truco" situation human must press a button. In this case Linux version does not work in the same way than Windows one. The program just does not stop to wait the button. It seems to me it is unable to have a visible radiobutton non checked. I am trying to solve it by adding a "null radiobutton" visible, but out of the user visible area. Thank you. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- JuhaManninen · 2012-11-11 10:16 A simplified example would help understand the problem. Juha ---------------------------------------------------------------------- lainz · 2012-11-11 11:07 Mira vos que interesante! Si lo escribís en español quizás pueda ayudarte, aunque no sepa mucho de programación. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- jls890 · 2012-11-11 20:55 Dear JuhaManninen and Lainz. Thank you very much! This is a example of the code  if (asktruco=true) then   begin     CheckBox13.Checked:=True;     asktruco:=false;     radiobutton2.Checked:=False;   end; if radiobutton2.Checked=true  then begin        //player 2 is going to play CheckBox13.Checked=True activates the button, but the problem is, in Linux, radiobutton2.Checked does not change to false (radiobutton2.Checked:=False; does not work, it seems we cannot have all radiobuttons unchecekd at same time) and player 2 plays without wait for the button. Thank you! Querido Lainz Muchas gracias. ¡Gracias! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Blaazen · 2012-11-11 21:18 Yes, I can confirm on both Qt4 and GTK2. But I think TRadioButton is native widget so probably it cannot be easily fixed (if you will report it to bugtracker). Maybe you should invent something else (ToggleBoxes or so). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- JuhaManninen · 2012-11-11 22:01 Quote from: Blaazen on November 11, 2012, 10:18:48 pmYes, I can confirm on both Qt4 and GTK2. Yes, "radiobutton.Checked:=False;" depends on widgetset. LCL binds to native widgets and this is the downside: sometimes they behave differently. I think you have 2 choices: 1. Use TRadioGroup. It may be difficult with your graphical GUI layout. 2. Use TToggleBox (as Blaazen suggested) or TCheckbox to simulate the radiobuttons. Juha ---------------------------------------------------------------------- jls890 · 2012-11-12 01:28 Hi Juha and Blaazen. Well, so it is not a bug, but a feature. I am now using just another radiobutton to avoid this problem. I will try to learn about TRadioGroup and TToggleBox. Thank you very much!
