Since years now, everytime I used Lazarus on linux the first time, it
always asks me: "file.file not found, do you want to create it"
I am wondering, what is this file for?

is it part of your "default" project ? have a look in the ~/lazarus
dir. is it part of some xml file ? or in lazarus sessions, part of
some .lps ?

To check, from a command prompt in your ~/.lazarus dir:Code:
[Select]grep -iIr file.file *.xml *.lps

This happened t me as well.  I think the fix (I'm trying to remember)
was that the menu choice had file.file as part of the command line. 
You need to remove it if it is there.
