Key mapping for Lazarus IDE etc. lazarus / 32-Linux ---------------------------------------------------------------------- MarkMLl ยท 2023-05-09 12:57 This is more in the nature of a "heads up" than anything else. For the last few years I've been using either a gamer's keyboard or a simple gamepad to allow me to get at some of the IDE facilities without having to remember peculiar key combinations, as described at https://wiki.freepascal.org/Lazarus_IDE_with_Nostromo_Keypad_on_Linux etc. A few months ago I both swapped PCs (after a hardware failure) and moved to Debian bookworm/testing since I anticipated needing the newest-possible library releases to rebuild something. By and large, it's not been too bad. However, it looks as though the mxk program that I was using to remap input events doesn't like the swap: while it will still run as a daemon the mapping doesn't actually work so instead I have to start it using GNU Screen. My suspicion is that this is something at the kernel level: I'm now using 6.1 while I was previously (I think) on 4.19. I mention this in case anybody else using similar software suddenly finds that an assistive peripheral stops working. MarkMLl
