ncurses changing colors problem lazarus / 32-Linux ---------------------------------------------------------------------- raymond · 2022-02-07 14:04 Am using fpc 3.2.2 x86_64 & ncurses 6.2 with Linux Mint 20.1   Cannot change colors e.g. PROGRAM colchg2; USES ncurses; VAR win : pWINDOW; BEGIN      initscr; start_color;     IF has_colors THEN WRITELN ('has col') ELSE WRITELN ('NO col');   { > has col }     IF can_change_color THEN WRITELN ('chng') ELSE WRITELN ('No chng'); { > chng }    init_pair (8, COLOR_RED, COLOR_WHITE);    win := newwin (80,25, 0,0);    wattron (win, COLOR_PAIR ();    mvwaddrstr (win, 8,0, '   Red on white ');     { > OK }    init_color (8,  215,135,0);    { > orange3 }    wattron (win, COLOR_PAIR();    mvwaddstr (win, 12,0, '   Orange on white');  { > no difference }    raw;  wgetch (wijn); endwin; END. Any ideas ? PLease ---------------------------------------------------------------------- MarkMLl · 2022-02-07 14:37 Not from any particular knowledge of that API with Pascal, but from a more general unix/Linux POV I suggest checking your TERM shell variable (or whatever is used to tell the library what's available) and the commands applicable to it. MarkMLl ---------------------------------------------------------------------- raymond · 2022-02-11 13:43 Thank you - my TERM is xterm-256color as recommended in ncurses FAQ. Owing to my incompetence there were two errors - of course it should be COLOR_PAIR ( and wgetch (win).  Still hoping for Delphi to reply.
