monotonic time and threads

So, I would like to write a generator of monotonic timestamps that may
be called from different threads. I am trying to write a test program
just to make clear for myself what I am supposed to do to avoid
jumpings. Right now, I am a little bit confused about the results I am
getting. I am assuming the terminal ordering is the "real" time order.
I am not sure if I must synchronize with/queue to the main thread.
