Informix ODBC Connection fails on windows 10 64b *SOLVED* lazarus / 16-Databases ---------------------------------------------------------------------- derles · 2021-08-06 12:12 Hello friends. I have a project with lazarus and informix database. The scenario where I do the development is: Scenario 1: Lazarus: 2.0.10 Date: 2020-07-07 FPC: 3.2.0 SVN: 63526 i386-win32-win32 / win64 Windows 7 32 bit I recently installed on a new PC: Scenario 2: Lazarus: 2.0.12 Date: 2021-02-21 FPC: 3.2.0 SVN: 63526 x86_64-win64-win32 / win64 Windows 10 64 bit Using the same project, with the same odbc dsn file, I have an error trying to connect to the database using ODBCConnection. My parameters are: FileDSN = C: \ MyProject \ odbc1.dsn UserName = myuser Password = mypass When doing a connection test in the DBC Data Source Administrator with the odbc.dsn file, the connection is successful on both PCs, which means that the Informix client is properly installed on both PCs. The project compiles ok in the two scenarios. The problem is that in scenario 1 the connection is successful, but it fails in scenario 2. It occurs both at runtime and development time in the IDE. The error message is: Could not connect with connection string "UID = myuser; PWD = mypass; FILEDSN = C: \ MuProject \ odbc1.dsn". ODBC error details: LastReturnCode: SQL_ERROR; Record 1: SqlState: IM002; NativeError: 0; Message: [Microsoft] [ODBC Data Source Administrator] Data source name not found and no default driver specified; This is my ODBC file: [ODBC] DRIVER = IBM INFORMIX ODBC DRIVER UID = myuser DLOC = en_US.819 CLOC = en_US.CP1252 PRO = onsoctcp SERV = ol_platinum SRVR = ol_platinum HOST = 10.10.10.2 DATABASE = ps2pil00 I also tried the odbc file in another application like excel, and it worked ok too. The connection only fails in my scenario 2. If anyone has any ideas I would really appreciate it. Daniel ---------------------------------------------------------------------- dseligo · 2021-08-06 12:43 Did you check if bitness of your application and driver is the same? Did you try to copy compiled .exe file from Scenario 1 and see if it works on Windows 10 64-bit? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- derles · 2021-08-06 15:30 Tks dseligo, the problem was indeed the bitness of the driver and the compiled app. I reinstalled Lazarus in my scenario 2, with i386-win32  this time. Solved.
