Connect to MariaDB lazarus / 16-Databases ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Alf Wernersson · 2021-06-27 19:20 Hello! I am using the following: FPC 3.04 Lazarus 2.0.6+dfsq-3 Ubuntu focal foss MariaDB 10.5 When I tried to connect with a MySQL57Connection I get this message: TMySQL57Connection can not work with the installed MySQL client version: Expected (5.7), got (10.5.11)." Can anybody tell me where to find the version I need and how to install it? Thanks Alf ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Sniper · 2021-06-27 20:06 https://forum.lazarus.freepascal.org/index.php?topic=35987.0 Please try mysql conn 5.6 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Alf Wernersson · 2021-06-28 06:08 Thanks Sniper, but the same happens again..... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- JanRoza · 2021-06-28 12:58 I know it is not Lazarus but if you look in CodeTyphon (https://www.pilotlogic.com/sitejoom/) the SQLDB component has separate connections for MariaDb 5.5 and 10.0 thru to 10.6. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Zvoni · 2021-06-28 13:40 Code: [Select]procedure TConnectionName.DoInternalConnect; var   FullVersion: string; begin   InitialiseMysql;   if not SkipLibraryVersionCheck then     begin     FullVersion:=strpas(mysql_get_client_info());     // Version string should start with version number:     // Note: in case of MariaDB version mismatch: tough luck, we report MySQL     // version only.     if (pos(MySQLVersion, FullVersion) <> 1) and        (pos(MariaDBVersion, FullVersion) <> 1) then       Raise EInOutError.CreateFmt(SErrVersionMisMatch,[ClassName,MySQL Version,FullVersion]);     end;    inherited DoInternalConnect;   ConnectToServer;   SelectDatabase; end; Quote// Version string should start with version number:     // Note: in case of MariaDB version mismatch: tough luck, we report MySQL     // version only. EDIT: From FPC3.2.0 Source code No idea about FPC3.2.2 with the new MySQL80Connection EDIT2: And in the Source-Code-Snippet above there is a hint how to Skip a Library check...... No Warranties...... EDIT3: Just noticed: What in blazes has this topic to do with installing Lazarus/FPC on Linux?!?!??!? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Alf Wernersson · 2021-06-28 15:20 Finally I have solved the problem. I found and install "libmysql20" and then it works. Tanks to all who have answered!
