Conect Postgresql 12.1 lazarus / 16-Databases ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Santia70 · 2020-01-05 18:11 Anyone know how to connect to a Postgresql version 12.1 database? ZeosDB does not work for me ---------------------------------------------------------------------- MarkMLl · 2020-01-05 18:22 When you say "does not work" what /exactly/ do you mean? What OS is the client on? What OS is the server on? Can you connect using psql from the same client system? Have you used older versions of PostgreSQL or are you approaching v12 from cold? Have you used the standard components rather than ZeosDB? I've got v11 set up on Linux which I could check from a linux client using the standard components. This is something that I'm going to need to do at some point so whilst I've got a lot on my plate it's not a great effort for me to do it sooner rather than later. I can't check v12 or ZeosDB anything like as easily... I'm not saying I won't, just that it's not something I can do first thing tomorrow. MarkMLl ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Santia70 · 2020-01-05 19:18 With ZeosDB version 7.2.6-stable and Lazarus v2.0.6 when connecting TZConection it tells me: Client-Library libpq.dll found but could not be loaded. Check compile-target and library compatibility! The Protocol property only reaches postgresql-9, so the question The client and DB in Windows 10, pgAdmin4 connects perfectly Using PQConnection to test tells me: Can not load PostgreSQL client library ¨libpq.dll¨. Check your installation. The client uses ZeosDB with Postgresql v 9.2, just wanted to update Postgresql sorry my english ---------------------------------------------------------------------- MarkMLl · 2020-01-05 20:06 Quote from: Santia70 on January 05, 2020, 08:18:36 pmWith ZeosDB version 7.2.6-stable and Lazarus v2.0.6 when connecting TZConection it tells me: Client-Library libpq.dll found but could not be loaded. Check compile-target and library compatibility! I didn't ask about pgadmin4, I asked whether psql on THAT MACHINE connected properly to that particular v12. I'm fairly sure that psql uses libpq.dll hence is a minimal test of the prerequisites. MarkMLl ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Santia70 · 2020-01-05 20:32 with psql yes, now after testing copy the following dll of the version of Posgresql 9.1.3 64 bit to the same project folder and connected: libpq.dll libiconv-2.dll libintl-8.dll ssleay32.dll libeay32.dll Now let's see how the rest works, but with libpq.dll from version 12.1 it doesn't work ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Santia70 · 2020-01-05 20:53 After continuing to test, I got it to work by copying the following dll but from version 12.1 libcrypto-1_1-x64.dll libiconv-2.dll libintl-8.dll libpq.dll libssl-1_1-x64.dll Now to see the other mistakes it gives me at the end of the reports, but these I think have nothing con el sql, I will fix it. thanks ---------------------------------------------------------------------- valdir.marcos · 2020-01-06 01:24 Quote from: Santia70 on January 05, 2020, 09:53:01 pmAfter continuing to test, I got it to work by copying the following dll but from version 12.1 libcrypto-1_1-x64.dll libiconv-2.dll libintl-8.dll libpq.dll libssl-1_1-x64.dll Now to see the other mistakes it gives me at the end of the reports, but these I think have nothing con el sql, I will fix it. thanksMaybe, PostgreSQL minimum client Windows installers could provide better information: https://www.postgresql.org/download/windows/ https://www.ibm.com/cloud/blog/new-builders/postgresql-tips- installing-the-postgresql-client https://docs.actian.com/psql/psqlv13/index.html#page/getstart/05reqstr .htm https://docs.actian.com/psql/psqlv13/index.html#page/getstart/installp rep.htm#ww75626 https://docs.actian.com/psql/psqlv13/index.html#page/getstart/installp rep.htm#ww149125
